It’s “Field Day” season and two schools are preparing for outdoor challenges and activities this week:
At Eagleton Elementary School (880 Hooker St.), students will be participating in Field Day on Thursday, May 20. Activities will include relay races, potato sack races, tug o' war, beach-ball volleyball and many others. Grades three, four and five will participate from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. while grades one and two will participate from 1:05 to 2: 55 p.m.
After each session there will be ice cream, popsicles and a variety of treats for the students to enjoy. For more information, contact the school at 303-623-0181.
Edison Elementary School (3350 Quitman St.) will hold its Field Day on Friday, May 21. The morning session will run from 9:15 to 11:45 a.m.; the afternoon session will run from 1:15 to 3:45 p.m. Students will compete in many challenges from the sack race and three-legged race to the dash and pizza box relay. This is for students in first-grade through fifth-grade and is organized by the physical education teacher Todd Rubenstein. The telephone number at Edison is 303-455-3615.
