Elyse Singleton, author of “This Side of the Sky,” will visit Grant Middle School on Tuesday, May 18 to honor Paul Hamilton-Pennell, winner of the Library of Congress “Letters About Literature” award for Colorado.

The contest was sponsored in Colorado by The Colorado Center for the Book, which, coincidentally, honored Elyse's book as its Book of the Year for 2004 in the fiction category.

The presentation will begin at 1:45 p.m. in Room 217. Elyse Singleton will give a short talk about writing and then spend some time with Paul and Fred Hesse, the eighth-grade writing teacher whose students consistently win national awards.
