Two Columbine Elementary School students, fifth-graders Ashley Beard and Frank Tafoya, will be guest speakers at the grand opening for Katie's Course and Chubb's Course - Junior Golf Courses for First Tee students. (The Junior Golf courses are at City Park and Willis Case.)

The grand opening will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 15 at City Park Golf Course (2500 York St.).

The students have participated in golf club making and the "Read 'n Swing” program over the last three years.

Thirteen Columbine students served as caddies for the Tom Woodard Tournament held at Chubb's Course on Tuesday, May 11. That event featured pro-golfer Jonathon Kaye. Students were chosen who have demonstrated excellence or significant improvement in reading, behavior and attitude, academic performance and interest in golf.
