More than 1,000 seats have been reserved for the second annual DPS Foundation gala dinner on Tuesday, May 18 at the Adams Mark Hotel. The benefit - a celebration of Denver Public Schools - will begin with a reception and silent auction at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m.
There is still time to reserve a seat at this year’s gala dinner – a community gathering that in just its second year is quickly becoming a signature event for the school district and the community. Tickets for the public start at $250 per person. Tickets for Denver Public Schools employees and retirees are $125 per person. Call the DPS Foundation at 720-423-3553 to reserve a seat.
Governor Bill Owens, Mayor John Hickenlooper, Superintendent Jerry Wartgow, members of the Denver City Council and members of the Denver Board of Education are expected to attend.
Students performances throughout the evening will include the Bryant Webster Elementary Mariachi Band, Denver School of the Arts, East High Angelaires, Greenlee Elementary Mile Highland Dancers, Hamilton Middle School Jazz Band, Kennedy High School Shakespearean Actors, Valverde Elementary Grupo Folklorico Infantil Viva Mexico, Veronica Gallegos of North High School, West High School Madrigal Choir and Zoe and Annie Aqua.
