Hill Middle School’s Revitalization Committee is looking for additional community members, parents and teachers to serve on the committee.
If you are interested, please submit a letter of interest to the Southeast Area Office by Monday, May 17 for consideration (710 S. Pennsylvania St., Denver, Colo., 80209). Include your name, address and telephone number. In your letter:
- Indicate that you are applying for the Revitalization Committee
- Indicate whether you are a parent, teacher or community member
- If you are a parent, include the name(s) of your child or children and the names of the school(s) they attend
- Include the name of the neighborhood or community organization you represent, if any
- State the reasons why you believe you should be appointed
- Describe any past involvement you have had in the Hill Middle School improvement planning process
A Revitalization Committee meeting is planned from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 27 in the school auditorium.
Hill Middle School is one of 13 schools named by the Board of Education as eligible for revitalization, one of the mill levy proposals approved by voters in November 2003. The revitalization component included $2.5 million of the $20 million annual tax increase approved by voters. Schools will use the money to develop plans to increase student achievement and increase the attractiveness of the schools to the community.
