Gilpin Elementary School’s Jaguar Pride Drillers Will Participate In “Celebrate Cultures” Parade Saturday, May 1

The Gilpin Elementary School Jaguar Pride Drillers, the Jaguar J.V. Drill Team and Traditional Mexican Dance Troupe will participate in the Celebrate Cultures Parade on Saturday, May 1.

The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. at 12th and Welton St. in downtown Denver. Reviewing stands will be located at 14th and Lincoln St. The parade is part of the Cinco de Mayo Celebrate Culture Festival, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday (May 1 and 2) in Civic Center Park.

The Jaguar Pride Drillers will also compete in the step show at Smiley Middle School (2540 Holly St.) on Thursday, May 29.

Both drill teams and the dance troupe are supported by a Lights On Afterschool! grant. Mile High United Way and the Denver Public Schools (DPS) Foundation announced the Lights On Afterschool! partnership in 2003 to expand the availability of critical after school programming for elementary and middle school students.

Gilpin Elementary School is located at 2949 California St. For more information, please call 303-297-0313.
