Five Southeast Area Elementary Schools To Hold Spelling Bee

Five southeast area elementary schools have joined together to hold a spelling bee from 9:45 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, April 19 at Asbury Elementary School.

Asbury (1320 E. Asbury Ave.), Lincoln (710 S. Pennsylvania St.), McKinley-Thatcher (1230 S. Grant St.) and Rosedale (2330 S. Sherman St.) elementary schools and Slavens K-8 (3000 S. Clayton St.) will be sending three students per grade level.

The contestants were selected by individual school spelling bees. Rosedale Elementary School received a Lights on After School grant, which provided the funds to pay for transportation, awards and other miscellaneous costs. Refreshments will be provided and were donated by Country Buffet.
