Students from Remington Elementary and Academia Ana Marie Sandoval Montessori schools are part of “Broadcasting from Earth,” a digital-sculptural installation highlighting the work of creative residents Scott Slack and Scott Randolph through the PlatteForum, a one-of-a-kind arts center that connects art and education and youth. Their poetry and films will be uploaded into a sculpture entitled “The Woton Earth Robot” that will broadcast their creations through a variety of video playback sources.

The opening night and reception will be held at PlatteForum from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 7. The installation will continue through June 5, Tuesdays through Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m.

“Broadcasting from Earth” is an exploration of “a small band of explorers - equipped with video cameras and poetry journals - who will deliver the findings of their recent expedition to the third planet from the sun.

Slack and Randolph are filmmakers and storytellers who founded the Taos Media Center to teach teens the skills of film, video and music production. They also produced the Teen Media Conference, an event where over 100 youth filmmakers from around the U.S. partnered with media professionals in a hands-on learning environment.

PlatteForum is located at 1610 Little Raven St., Suite 125, at the foot of the Millennium Bridge in LoDo. For more information call 303-893-0791 or visit www.platteforum.org.
