The May 2004 edition of “DPS Today” - the monthly television show about Denver Public Schools on Denver cable 8 - features an in-depth discussion with three teachers about a variety of current issues.

Two of the teachers are among those being honored this spring by the Denver Teachers’ Awards program; the third recently earned her National Board Certification.

Guests for the April edition of “DPS Today” include: LaTricia Goodloe, Whittier Elementary School; Peggy Moritz, Lowry Elementary School; and Karen Fernandez, Manual Arts and Cultural High School.

LaTricia Goodloe and Peggy Moritz are among the nine individual teachers being honored by the Denver Teacher Awards at a May 7 banquet. Karen Fernandez was awarded her National Board Certification in 2003 following a rigorous, performance-based assessment that takes nearly a year to complete.

The show will begin airing Saturday, May 1 on Denver 8 cable. The show can be seen every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 8 a.m. and every Friday and Saturday at 8:30 p.m. throughout the month.

Denver stations 22 and 48 also re-broadcast “DPS Today.” Channel 22 is the DPS channel on Comcast cable in Denver. Channel 48 is an ITFS microwave channel that is received only within all DPS facilities and delivered on cable channel 48 in the each classroom.
