North High School Marching Band, Mariachi Will Perform In 2004 Celebrate Culture Parade On May 1; Host Free Concert On May 4; And Perform With United States Air Force Academy On May 20

Mariachi Cevallos del North High School (North's Mariachi class) will be in the 2004 Celebrate Culture Parade and the North High School marching band will be the lead unit in the parade on Saturday, May 1 at Denver's Civic Center. This parade will be televised locally on WB Channel 2. North is the only Denver high school that has a marching band and a Mariachi group.

Mariachi Cevallos del North High School and the North Jazz Band will also present their Spring Concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 4 in the North auditorium. The concert is free. The United States Air Force Academy Winds will be at North High School for a performance and clinic on May 20 at 9:20 a.m.

The marching band recently received the trophy for the best High School Marching Band in the 42nd Denver St. Patrick's Day Parade held on March 13, 2004. This is the fifth consecutive year that North has won first place in this parade. The Jazz Combo performed at the 3rd Annual Auraria Jazz Celebration at Metro State College on April 15 for the third year in a row.
