Henry Middle School principal Wendy Lanier and Southwest Area Superintendent Melanie Haas are inviting community members interested in the revitalization process to attend an introductory meeting Thursday, April 29. The meeting will run from 6-9 p.m. in the school auditorium.

The meeting will serve as the beginning of the revitalization process at Henry Middle School, said Area Superintendent Haas. A committee will ultimately be formed to oversee the work.

Henry Middle School was one of 13 schools named by the Board of Education as eligible for revitalization, one of the mill levy proposals approved by voters in November 2003. The revitalization component included $2.5 million of the $20 million annual tax increase approved by voters. Schools will use the money to develop plans to increase student achievement and increase the attractiveness of the schools to the community.
