Northwest Coalition for Better Schools presents The Gem of Northwest Denver 17th Annual NW Schools Fair from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 24. The fair will be held at North High School, 2960 N. Speer Blvd.

Events begin at 7:30 a.m. with the Ellen L. Torres Awards Breakfast. Awards will be handed out in several categories including essay and art contests, friendliest school, and the Boz award for outstanding teacher.

Opening ceremonies will take place at 10 a.m. with middle and high school essay winners riding in on fire trucks. Other activities throughout the day include a chess tournament for players of all school ages, science demonstrations, elementary, middle, and high school brag booths. There will also be food, prepared by parents and various school clubs.
