KBCO Studio C Local Edition On Sale This Saturday, March 6; Proceeds Will Benefit Music Programs In Denver Public Schools

On Saturday, March 6TH at 9 a.m. 97.3 KBCO-FM will release the latest installment of the charity CD collection, KBCO Studio C. The KBCO Studio C Local Edition CD will be available at Denver metro Best Buy locations and at the 97.3 KBCO Studios in Boulder. This limited edition release, priced at $9.73 plus tax, is expected to sell-out quickly. All proceeds from the sale of KBCO Studio C Local Edition CDs will benefit music education programs in Denver Public Schools.

For the past 5 months, 97.3 KBCO-FM has searched for Colorado's best local musicians to perform in KBCO Studio C, the Boulder based radio station's in house recording studio. Hundreds of submissions from local musicians were received by 97.3 KBCO. Highlights of these performances from local musicians have been compiled onto the first-ever KBCO Studio C Local Edition CD. The CD will feature exclusive recordings from both established and up-and-coming local musicians.

"The KBCO Studio C Local Edition is one of those experiences that was positive on every level. We got to work with old friends who have been a part of the rich musical history of KBCO Studio C as well as new faces that will be a part of it's future,” says Keefer, 97.3 KBCO Music Director and KBCO Studio C Producer.

All proceeds from the sale of KBCO Studio C Local Edition CDs will be used to repair and maintain instruments, purchase new instruments, equipment, books and materials for the 72,000 students in Denver Public Schools.
"There are several families in our school district who are not in a financial position where they can afford an instrument for their child. The donation Denver Public Schools will receive from the sale of the CD is giving many students opportunities they may not otherwise have," says Stephen Gonzales, Denver Public Schools Manager of Music. "You never know what untapped talent or genius lies in our schools if just given the opportunity," says Gonzales.

Throughout the 15-year history of KBCO Studio C, legendary artists have performed live on the radio to the delight of Colorado listeners. KBCO Studio C sessions have been performed by visiting World Class recording artists including Sting, Dave Matthews, Stevie Nicks, Coldplay, Elvis Costello, Willie Nelson, R.E.M., Jack Johnson with Ben Harper, Steve Winwood, Seal, Barenaked Ladies, Sheryl Crow, and many more.
