Skinner Middle School Hosts Seventh Annual Chili Cook-Off And Silent Auction Tonight, March 24

The seventh annual Skinner Middle School Chili Cook-off and Silent Auction will take place today (Wednesday, March 24) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Bids for the Silent Auction will be accepted from 6 to 7 p.m.

Donated items include gift certificates from fabulous northwest Denver and downtown Denver restaurants and businesses; two round-trip airfare tickets; Denver Nuggets tickets; and artwork from talented community members.

The Chili Cook-off will have three categories for judging: Green Chile, Red Chile and Texas Chili. Winners will be awarded for “Hottest” and “Best Tasting.” Chili donations are being accepted from Skinner families and friends as well as local restaurants.

Tickets are available at the door for $3 for adults and $2 for students. All proceeds will help support the eighth-grade Leadership and Gifted and Talented Classes’ field trip to SeaCamp in San Diego. SeaCamp is a week-long marine-biology adventure that includes labs, snorkeling and oceanic study.
