Students at Stedman Elementary School this year are rapt in RAPPS - their motto that emphasizes the importance of these behaviors: Respect, Act with good character, Purpose, Positively and Safe. At 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 26, the school will celebrate the Stedman RAPPS program, which is part of a unique “Faces of Change” partnership with Crescent Real Estate. There are only two such partnerships in Denver.
Students at the school designed a Stedman RAPPS logo that Crescent is printing onto t-shirts that every student will wear to the assembly. Students will make presentations about what they consider to be important character traits and what those mean for them.
“Overall student behavior has improved”, said Stedman Elementary School principal Rachel Starks. “We have seen students reminding each other of the expectations, and students have a sense of pride when they are recognized for demonstrating character traits…Ask any student what RAPPS means and they will tell you.”
Crescent Realty has developed a three-year partnership with Stedman Elementary School (one of only two such partnerships in Denver) through its FACES of Change program - a community partnership through education founded and facilitated by Crescent Real Estate Equities for the purpose of helping children and strengthening schools. Through FACES of Change, customers, employees and business partners of Crescent properties form three-year partnerships that encourage and support outstanding elementary schools in their communities. Since 1997 more than 50 schools across the nation have benefited from a FACES of Change partnership.
Stedman Elementary School is located at 2940 Dexter St. For more information, contact the school at 303-322-7781.
