Denver School of the Arts will host a workshop with its Jazz Workshop Orchestra and saxophonist Ron Carter, Professor of Music and Director of Jazz Studies at Northern Illinois University, on Tuesday, March 23. The workshop will run from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m., with a one-hour dinner break at 6:30 p.m.
The workshop is open for any interested students and band directors in Denver Public Schools.
The Denver School of the Arts’ Jazz Workshop Orchestra is one of 15 bands from around the country that will compete at the Lincoln Center in New York City in May at the Essentially Ellington Jazz Festival and Competition, hosted by Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra.
The workshop will be held in the DSA Concert Hall, 7111 Montview Blvd.
