Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper has chosen the national bestseller, “Peace Like a River” by Leif Enger, for his “One Book, One Denver” project and Dora Moore K-8 School is planning to be a part of this reading adventure.
The school is organizing a book discussion group that will include faculty and families of Moore. If you are interested in reading the book and discussing it, please take us up on this exciting offer.
Follow these simple steps to join in the fun:
First, purchase and read the book. The book is in stock now at all local bookstores. It is also available at the public library to check out.
Next, attend two book club discussions at Dora Moore K-8 School. The first session is Tuesday, March 23 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Room 108. (Please read pages 1-107 before coming to this session. Come prepared with any thoughts or questions you had about the book). The second session is Thursday, April 15 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. (The location is to be announced.) Please finish the book by this session.
Refreshments will be provided. Please join the school for an engaging hour of discussing the book everyone in Denver will be talking about. Don’t miss this opportunity to be a part of a community of readers and get to know each other in a relaxed and fun way. If you have any questions about this program, please call Devin Auble or Jane Fitzgerald at Dora Moore K-8, 303-831-7044. The school is located at 846 Corona St.
