Students Celebrate Black History Month At Smiley Middle School

Smiley Middle School will hold its second annual “Smiley Celebrates Black History Month” celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11. This fun-filled evening celebrates Black History Month as well as other cultures that contribute to Denver’s rich diversity. Student artwork will fill the halls and music, drama and dance performances will entertain guests.

The entire school, family and neighborhood is invited to see the effort put forth by Smiley students in these creative endeavors that explore culture and particularly the contributions of African-Americans. Local artists have been working with students to develop creative works such as two-dimensional art, dance and drama. The Smiley Cougar Band will be performing as well. Dinner will be served for $3/plate in the cafeteria with food from local restaurants. Please join the school for an exciting and entertaining evening.

Smiley Middle School is located at 2540 Holly St. The school’s telephone number is 303-399-0740.
