Denver Teachers' Awards Hosts Recognition Reception Wednesday, March 3

The Denver Teachers' Awards will host its annual Recognition Reception on Wednesday, March 3 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the district's administration building, 900 Grant St.

This reception is a special event where nominated teachers for the Denver Teachers' Awards are recognized and presented with a special plaque. (The awards banquet for finalists is held later in the spring.)

The 2004 Distinguished Teacher Nominees are: Jana Clark,

Denver School of the Arts; Vickie M. Salazar, East High School; Laurie Shook, South High School; Tracy T. Dodd, University Park Elementary School; Carrie L. Franklin, Dora Moore Elementary School; Latricia Goodloe, Whittier Elementary School; Donald C. Hilsberg, Doull Elementary School; Sharon Messinger, Cory Elementary School; Peggy Moritz, Lowry Elementary School; Kathie Olmsted, College View Elementary School; Judy M. Plock, Maxwell Elementary School; and Margaret J. Wing, Lincoln Elementary School.

Parking for the reception is available on Grant St. and in the DPS parking lot across the street from the administration building. Please RSVP to Sharon Tave at 303-863-3701 by Thursday, Feb. 26 if you plan to attend.

The Denver Teachers' Awards have been recognizing and honoring distinguished teachers for excellence in teaching since 1957.
