Mongolian And Chinese Dance Among Talent In English Language Acquisition Student Program At Merrill Middle School

At 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, approximately 80 students in the English Language Acquisition (ELA) program at Merrill Middle School will perform for their teachers and parents in the second annual talent and fashion show. Merrill is the magnet for middle school ELA students from over 35 countries. This evening's show will feature a Mongolian dance, a Chinese dragon dance and native costumes from 20 countries.

Parents can learn about Merrill and the ELA program. They will have an opportunity to meet in language groups (Arabic, Spanish, Mongolian, Bosnian and Vietnamese) for question and answer sessions.

At the conclusion of the show, parents are encouraged to view the sensational Cherry Creek Arts Festival Mobile Art Collection housed at Merrill through Monday, Dec. 15.

ELA Teacher Mary Rodriguez coordinated this event with assistance from paraprofessionals, a student teacher and her fellow ELA teachers.

Merrill is located in southeast Denver at 1551 S. Monroe St. Please contact Assistant Principal Susan Trimm at 303-756-3621 for further information.
