Board Of Education Agendas for Thursday, Dec. 4

The Board of Education will hold a work session, public hearing and regular meeting on Thursday, Dec. 4 at the administration building, 900 Grant St.
       
        Following is a review of the agendas:

4 p.m. - Work Session, Room 706 (Please note some items may not be considered until after the regular meeting.)

  1. Executive Session on legal issues (closed)
  2. Review consent agenda items
  3. High school transportation update (increasing flexibility and program options at high schools by changing the district’s two-tier transportation plan)
  4. General Obligation Bond (GOB) and mill levy accountability committees

5 p.m. - Regular Meeting, first floor Board Room

  1. Performance by Thomas Jefferson High School’s Women’s Choir
  2. Recognition of Inter-Neighborhood Cooperative for annual Dictionary Drive
  3. Recognition of Citizens Committee on Facility Needs (CCFN)
  4. Review of 2003 Colorado School Accountability Reports (SARs)
  5. Approval of an Intergovernmental Agreement among the City and County of Denver, School Resource Officers and DPS
  6. Approval of a motion naming the library at Cory Elementary School the Sue Edwards Library
  7. Approval of a motion naming the theater at the Denver School of the Arts the Kay Schomp Theater
  8. Consideration of a resolution to appoint an oversight committee for the 2003 General Obligation Bond (GOB)
  9. Approval of an easement to Denver Water at All City Stadium
  10. Certification to the City and County of Denver of the 2003 mill levies for the general fund and bond redemption fund (required by state statute no later than Dec. 15)
  11. Approval of motion to amend the DPS retirement and benefit plan
  12. Consideration of Cole/Randolph middle schools boundary change

7 p.m. - Public Hearing, first floor Board Room        

To date, six speakers have signed up to address a variety of topics, including the Denver Classroom Teachers Association (DCTA), irradiated food, parent voting and transformation, early entrance to ECE, kindergarten and first grade, and Board Policies JBBA, JB and JK.
