| Cheri Wright, science teacher at CEC Middle College of Denver, has been selected by the MetLife Foundation as one of only 10 teachers from across the nation to receive the prestigious Teacher Ambassador Award. She was nominated by Isaac Greene, a CEC Middle College of Denver student.
The award recognizes teachers who have undertaken extraordinary and voluntary efforts to connect with their students’ communities and to make themselves an active member of that community. By being selected as a winning teacher, Wright will receive a cash award of $1,500, a $3,000 grant for her classroom and a $3,000 grant for the school.
The award will be presented in Washington, D.C. at the National Awards Ceremony on Friday, Dec. 19. The nominating student, student’s guardian and teacher will be hosted with all accommodations provided courtesy of the MetLife Foundation.
