American Indian Students To Join Colorado First Lady At Governor’s Mansion For Holiday Tree Lighting

Twenty-five DPS students enrolled in American Indian Focus Schools will join Colorado First Lady Frances Owens at 2:30 p.m. TODAY (Monday, Dec. 1) at the Governor’s Mansion for the lighting of the holiday tree.

American Indian Focus Schools centralize the enrollment of American Indian students (K-12) to enhance their learning by providing educational and cultural support services. American Indian courses are offered for credit at East High School. Eligible elementary students can enroll in one of four schools - Brown, Carson, College View or Wyman. Hamilton Middle School, East High School and the CEC Middle College of Denver serve students at the secondary level.
