In conjunction with Denver’s weekly newspaper, Westword, Dazzle Jazz Club (930 Lincoln St.) will host a showcase on Saturday, Jan. 3 to benefit Denver School of the Arts. Tickets are $5 at the door all day. The event will start at 2 p.m. and run until about 1 a.m.

Groups that fuse the improvisational spirit of jazz with soul, hip-hop, electronica, drum n' bass and the avant-garde will be featured. The artists will donate their time for the evening to benefit the Denver School of the Arts, helping to ensure that Denver's relationship with jazz will continue with the next generation.

Bands to perform include 21/3, Bowshock, the Malinda Dixon Quartet, Future Jazz Project, the DLP, Lawhead, Flaco Funk Project, Momen Terra, Sons of Armageddon, Modern Art Workshop, Ben with Kneebody, and Cocktail Revolution.
