| By the end of the week, about 50 Emerson Street School students will be certified in first aid and CPR. The students are receiving instruction from 10 high school students who attend Ridgeview Academy Charter School. Both schools are alternative schools.
From 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, students will complete their two-day certification training at Emerson Street School, which serves seventh- through twelfth-graders. Ridgeview Academy serves high school freshmen through seniors.
“The training counts toward community service hours for Ridgeview Academy students,” said Tim Turley, project manager, DPS Prevention and Intervention Services. “First aid and CPR training are good skills for Emerson Street students to know as some of them serve their own community service hours.”
