The Board of Education will hold a work session, public hearing and regular meeting on Thursday, Nov. 6 at the administration building, 900 Grant St.

5 p.m. - Regular Meeting, first floor Board Room
1. Presentation by the Mariachi Juvenil de Bryant Webster.
2. Adoption of a resolution urging the U.S. Congress to pass legislation granting access to higher education for immigrants.
3. Approval of nonpublic school applications to participate in the Colorado Opportunity Contract Pilot Program.
4. Consideration of four charter school applications – American Charter School; Green Valley Ranch, an Edison charter school; Highline Academy; and Southwest High School.
5. Approval of a resolution affirming the Board of Education’s commitment to provide and maintain appropriate programs and services to English Language Learners.
6. Acceptance of $300,000 in grant funds awarded to the P.R.E.P. Refocus Middle School.
7. Acceptance of Expelled and At-Risk Student Services Grants of $357,427 to the Psychological Services Department and $353,182 to the Social Work Services Department.
8. Approval of amendments to the Denver Public Schools Retirement and Benefit Plan regarding retirement benefits.
9. Annual report of the English Language Acquisition Program as required by the ELA Court Order.

7 p.m. - Public Hearing, first floor Board Room
