| Denver South High School senior Stephen Lingo has received an award from the BBC for his photograph of Colorado mountain goats. The BBC - the British Broadcasting Corporation - selected 109 winning photographs from over 20,000 entries submitted by photographers from all over the world.
An exhibition of the winning photographs, currently on display at the Natural History Museum of London, will tour the world. It will be shown at the Wildlife Experience Museum in Parker, Colo., in summer 2004. The photographs are published in the BBC’s hardcover book, Portfolio 13.
Lingo's award-winning photograph can be seen on the Natural History Museum of London's website at http://internt.nhm.ac.uk/cgi-bin/wildwin/2003/ju_cat.dsml?catdescrip2=1517yo.
Last year, Lingo was one of five student winners of the Nature’s Best Magazine photography competition, and his photograph of a barn owl was displayed at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum in Washington, D.C. In 2002, Lingo was one of 10 high school students awarded scholarships by the North American Nature Photography Association.
