Mayor John Hickenlooper and Former U.S. Attorney Tom Strickland Join Board of Directors of Denver Public Schools Foundation

The Denver Public Schools Foundation is pleased to announce the addition of Mayor John Hickenlooper and Mr. Tom Strickland to its Board of Directors.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Mayor as an Honorary Board Member,” said Board Chairman Bruce Benson. “The Mayor’s demonstrated commitment to Denver Public Schools has been and will continue to be an incredible asset in achieving the educational goals of both DPS and the DPS Foundation.”

Mr. Benson continued, “We are also very pleased and excited to welcome Tom Strickland to our Board. We look forward to working with such a respected leader from the business community in achieving the goals of the DPS Foundation.”

Mr. Strickland is currently a partner with the Denver office of Hogan & Hartson L.L.P. where he represents clients in a wide range of industries and business issues. He served as the United States Attorney for the District of Colorado from 1999-2001. He has also served as legal counsel to the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and was a founder and board member of Great Outdoors Colorado. Twice he was the Democratic nominee for the United States Senate.

Denver Public Schools Foundation is Colorado’s largest K-12 educational foundation and supports the priorities of Denver Public Schools. The foundation was reorganized last year by Superintendent Jerry Wartgow and DPS Board of Education member Elaine Gantz Berman.
