Fairmont Elementary School staff, students, parents and community members will gather Thursday, Nov. 20 with a goal of reading one million words in one night.

Parents and all community members are invited to help reach the goal. The district’s Million Word campaign encourages every student to read one million words each year. All books and pages read Nov. 20 will count toward each child’s individual goal.

Participants are encouraged to come to Fairmont dressed in pajamas or in costume as a favorite storybook character. Teachers will have books available to read. Books will also be available for purchase in the school library as part of the annual Book Fair.
