Fifth-grade students from College View Elementary School will be appearing on Super School News during the week of Oct. 26. Super School News on Rocky Mountain PBS is written, produced and presented by fifth- and sixth-graders.
At College View, fifth-graders have been preparing for their news debut by practicing and refining their communication skills.
Six College View students were selected to be the Super School News anchors and reporters. They are Sarahi Hernandez, Jacqi Aguirre, Stevie Jo Davies, Amber Cruz, Jesus Gutierrez and Cerra Reichel-Hodges. The student newscasters authored their own scripts about school and community activities. Students also designed visuals to use in their newscast presentation. The taping of the show will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15 at the Rocky Mountain PBS studio, 1089 Bannock St.
To date, 64 Colorado schools and seven DPS schools are participating in Super School News this year. DPS schools include: Beach Court, College View, Edison, Fairview and Southmoor elementary schools; and Dora Moore and Grant Ranch K-8 schools.
