West High School will honor and celebrate the school's 2003 State 5A Cross Country championship team on Monday, Nov. 3 during an assembly in the gymnasium. The assembly will begin at 2:15 p.m.

West High School cross country runners finished 3rd, 4th, 15th, 25th and 39th to win the team championship last weekend in Colorado Springs, earning the school its first back-to-back championships in any sport, ever.

Marsha Neville of KCNC-TV (Channel 4) will make a special presentation to the Cowboys for their successful season.

The cross country team includes Yusuf Ahmed, Abdurahman Faki, Mohamud Ige, Tobby Gonzales, Frank Medina, Abiud Mojica, Jessie Romero, Frank Slater and Daniel Trujillo. The coaches are Louis Cruz and Brad Barnes.
