Denver Public Schools Retirement System Executive Director To Resign Effective December 2, 2003

The Board of Trustees of the Denver Public Schools Retirement System (DPSRS) has accepted the resignation of the Executive Director, David Stella, effective Dec. 2, 2003. Stella has accepted the position of Executive Assistant in the Wisconsin Department of Employee Trust Funds, a state agency that administers retirement and other benefit plans for over 503,000 participants in Wisconsin.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, Board Chairman John MacPherson expressed appreciation for the leadership that Stella provided to the DPSRS over the past two years. MacPherson also acknowledged Stella's guidance and efforts toward a proposed merger of the DPSRS with Colorado PERA.

The Board of Trustees has begun the process of finding a replacement for Stella and expects to complete that process over the next few weeks.
