Columbian Elementary School will hold its Family Literacy Night at Barnes & Noble Booksellers on Thursday, Oct. 2 beginning at 5 p.m.

Family, friends and neighbors are invited to the event, which will include a second-grade puppet show, third-grade poetry reading, story reading, a “Stone Fox” drama and a Roald Dahl presentation.

Students at Columbian Elementary School are working toward their goal of reading one million words this school year as part of the district’s Million Words campaign.

Round-trip transportation is being provided from Columbian, 2925 W. 40th Ave., to the store at 14347 W. Colfax Ave. in Golden. There are two groups of students, one leaving for the store at 4:30 p.m. and the other at 6:30 p.m.
