Board of Education Agendas For Thursday, Sept. 18

The Board of Education will hold a series of meetings on Thursday, Sept. 18, including a special hearing for charter school applicants.

Following is a review of the agendas:

2 p.m. - Work Session, Room 706 (please note some items may not be considered until after the Regular Meeting)

  1. Review of Regular Meeting agenda items
  2. Denver Dozen
  3. Individual Athletic Passes
  4. Policies and Procedures for Parent Involvement
  5. DPS 2003-2004 Priorities

3 p.m. - Special Hearing, Charter School Applications

  1. Six charter school applicants will each have 20 minutes to present an overview of their proposal.

5 p.m. - Regular Meeting

  1. Presentation - Student achievement and tax increases; Rudy Andras, Dain Rauscher
  2. Presentation - West High School Small Learning Communities
  3. Motion to approve the agreement between Denver Public Schools and the Association of Building and Grounds Workers
  4. A series of motions related to the planned merger of the Denver Public Schools Retirement Association and the Public Employees Retirement Association.

The work session will be held in Room 706; both the 3 p.m. special hearing and the 5 p.m. Regular Meeting will be held in the first floor board room.
