Teachers and staff members from Valverde Elementary School will take part in the seventh annual neighborhood walk on Saturday, Sept. 20. The day will begin at 8:30 a.m. with teachers meeting at the school to collect materials and pair up with fellow staff members.

The school’s goal is to meet every parent and student at their home and elicit the essential parent involvement partnership needed to improve student achievement.

Dedicated teachers and staff members will knock on every child’s door to make a personal contact with the parent of every student. Teachers also will be delivering bags filled with school supplies and books along with a mid-quarter progress report.

Supplies and books are made possible through a donation by Best Car Buys, Ltd., a business that partners with Valverde to provide resources for Valverde students.
