Bond And Mill Levy Proposals Highlight Board Of Education Agendas For Thursday, Aug. 21 Meetings

The Board of Education will hold a work session and a Regular Meeting on Thursday, Aug. 21 at the administration building, 900 Grant St.

The major topic will be consideration of a bond and a mill levy proposal for voters in November. Under consideration are a $310 million bond to continue building new schools and upgrading existing facilities and a $20 million mill levy package designed to reinvigorate arts and music education, boost textbook purchases, and expand choice options.

Following is an overview of the agenda items:

3. Collaborative School Committees

5 p.m. Regular Meeting
1. Resolution – General Obligation Bond
2. Resolution – Mill Levy Election
3. Resolution – Capital Construction Costs for KIPP: Sunshine Peak Academy
4. Resolution – Capital Construction Costs for Denver School of Science and Technology
5. Agreement between Denver Public Schools and the Association of Food Service Employees
6. Memorandum of Understanding between the Denver Public Schools and the Facility Managers Association
7. Hangar Lease and Purchase Option at Front Range Airport for the Emily Griffith Opportunity School Aircraft Training Center.
