West Washington Park’s Lincoln Elementary School blends Denver’s history and tradition with fresh ideas and innovative teaching. The stately brick building is itself a mix of old and new. Built in 1891, the school was added to in 1929, and in 1996 a new entry lobby, office and cafeteria were completed. Lincoln was designated as a historical landmark in 1997. In 2001, new windows, a new wood gym floor, a new playground and a flagstone seating area were installed.
Lincoln Elementary School is a diverse and unique center of learning with small class sizes. Lincoln is also a center school for three-and four-year-old students in the ELC Program. Lincoln will open a Primary Montessori program in 2003 for children ages three, four and five. The traditional multi age program will serve students in Early Childhood Education through grade five.
