The public is invited to attend an open house at Smiley Middle School, 2540 Holly St., on Friday, May 16 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Those who attend will be treated to a tour of the school followed by a brief presentation and refreshments. There will also be informal meetings with students, staff and parents.

Additionally, Smiley will be introducing three new instructional programs. The new programs are The International Preparatory Magnet (IPM), The Discovery Academy (math/science) and The Renaissance Academy.
