Families and friends of McKinley-Thatcher Elementary School are cordially invited to attend a special dinner with a musical dessert on the evening of Thursday, May 15.
Members of the fourth and fifth grade Intermediate Choir, under the direction of classroom teachers Mrs. Brenda Dockery and Mrs. Barbara Mayes, will be hosting a dinner theater followed by a musical extravaganza entitled “That’s Entertainment.&8221;
The choir’s 2003 spring production will highlight the best of American musical theater. Students will sing and dance to tunes from many favorite musicals including “Annie Get Your Gun,” “The King and I,” “Oliver,” “Singing in the Rain,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Oklahoma” and “The Sound of Music.” In addition, student narrators will take listeners on a journey down memory lane, sharing the history of how these musicals and songs came to be.
From 5:30-6:30 p.m. prior to the 7 p.m. free performance of “That’s Entertainment,” guests are invited to attend a dinner catered by Fazoli’s. Reservations to attend the dinner are due by Wednesday, May 7, 2003. Guests need not attend the dinner to come to the free concert.
