Additional Denver schools will observe Cinco de Mayo today:
Centennial Elementary School, 4665 Raleigh St., will celebrate Cinco de Mayo on Monday, May 5 with two assemblies performed by the group Baila Conmingo under the direction of Anna Rojas-Artica. The performances will be from 9:30-10:15 a.m. and 10:30-11:15 a.m. For information, contact Joellen Davis, principal, 303-433-6489.
Ford Elementary School, 14500 Maxwell Place, will celebrate Cinco de Mayo twice this week. At 9 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. Monday, May 5, second and fifth-graders will perform in the auditorium for students at the school. At 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, a second and third grade music presentation for parents and students will feature "The Selfish Giant" and "The Goat That Couldn't Sneeze.” For information, call the school at 303-371-6990.
The Manual Educational Complex, 1700 E. 28th Ave., is hosting a festive day in honor of Cinco de Mayo on Monday, May 5. The morning activities will start at 10 a.m. in the Thunderdome with members of the Crush Football Team speaking. The famous Grambling State Marching Band and Drill Team will be performing. At 1:30 pm students will reassemble in the auditorium for student speeches and dance performances. For information, call 303-391-6300.
