From 6-7 p.m. Thursday, May 29, Smith Elementary School, 3590 Jasmine St., will host a family literacy night. The focus of the evening will be summer reading. Families can get information about encouraging children to read during the summer, and a representative from the local public library branch will discuss summer reading programs. The evening will include a read aloud activity, pizza, library card sign-up, door prizes and book give away. Families from all grade levels are invited to attend.
