At Emily Griffith Opportunity School, 605 international students from 64 countries study English - creating a thriving multicultural community in the heart of downtown Denver.
On Wednesday, May 14 take a tour of the world in just minutes while celebrating "Diversity Day" at Emily Griffith (1250 Welton St.).
From 8:30 - 11:00 a.m., visitors are welcome to explore the many classrooms that will be converted to represent a different region of the world. A Parade of Nations will be held from 11:30 a.m. to noon, with students dressed in their native attire. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the International Cafe will offer food in the courtyard and from noon to 1 p.m., students and staff will entertain during a World Variety Show at the cafe. An International Film Festival will run from 1 to 3 p.m. with screenings of "No Man's Land" and "Tortilla Soup." The International Coffee Shop will be open from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. and again from 6 to 7 p.m.
