Reading On Center Stage At Lincoln Elementary School Friday, March 7

Lincoln Elementary School will focus on reading throughout the day Friday, March 7.

Parents, community members and members of the Denver Board of Education including James Mejia and Michelle Moss will read to students throughout the day in celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Each guest reader will receive a red and white Dr. Seuss hat and button.

At 6 p.m., the school will host its annual Family Read Across America night for parents and children. Each child will receive a Reading Is Fundamental book, make a bookmark, and hear stories. Materials will be available for parents in both English and Spanish about various ways to support students in school. There will also be a special dinner provided by the Country Buffet for all involved. The Country Buffet “Reading Bee” will also present special certificates to the students who have read a million words or more as part of the district’s “Million Words” campaign.
