The boys’ basketball team at East High School defeated Gateway High School 56-45 on Wednesday night to advance to the semifinals of the 5A State Basketball Tournament.

The Angels will face Doherty High School at 6:50 p.m. Friday at the Pepsi Center.

The championship game is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. Saturday, also at the Pepsi Center.
