Fifth grade students at Brown Elementary School will participate in a mock Congressional Hearing on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
Students are preparing to answer questions dealing with such topics as the United States Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the powers of the United States Government.
Teams consisting of five students will be asked questions by a panel of three judges. The judges include Rev. Lucia Guzman (also a member of the DPS Board of Education), Jason Mundy, a member of the Board of Directors of the Colorado American Civil Liberties Union, and Gilberto Munoz, the Director of Social Studies for DPS.
The event is 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the school’s auditorium, 2550 Lowell Blvd. Refreshments and awards will follow the hearing.
