Shuttle Bus Service Schedule For Denver School Of The Arts Auditions February 1st, February 8th

In efforts to insure that all students who have applied to the Denver School of the Arts have transportation to their auditions on Saturday, Feb. 1 and Saturday, Feb. 8, shuttle bus service will be provided from northeast Denver and northwest Denver.

The service is free for prospective students and their parents.

There are two audition periods on each of the Saturdays - mornings and afternoons. On both audition days, buses will depart at the following times from the following locations:

Buses that will arrive at Denver School of the Arts by 7:30 a.m. will leave from:

Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School at 6:45 a.m.
Montbello High School at 7:00 a.m.
Horace Mann Middle School at 7:00 a.m.
North High School at 7:10 a.m.
Lake Middle School at 7:15 a.m.
Smiley Middle School at 7:15 a.m.

Buses that will arrive at Denver School of the Arts by 12:30 p.m. will leave from:

Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School at 11:45 a.m.
Montbello High School at 12:00 noon
Horace Mann Middle School at 12:00 noon
North High School at 12:10 p.m.
Lake Middle School, 12:15 p.m.
Smiley Middle School, 12:15 p.m.

Buses will leave DSA at 12:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. to return students to the above schools.

DSA principal Patti Bippus explained that the biggest number in audition no-shows over the past years have come from northeast and northwest Denver.

“We don’t know all the reasons why certain students don’t show up, but we want to make sure that transportation is not one of them,” she stated.

Last year, over 120 students did not arrive for their audition time. This year, DSA is working to encourage all 870 students who have applied to arrive.

“ This is a great year to audition to DSA”, said Bippus. “We are increasing our enrollment by nearly 100 students in preparation to move to our larger, new facility in northeast Denver.”

Auditions will run from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day. Prospective students are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes before their auditions. Some majors like Dance and Vocal Music also have group sessions in addition to individual auditions, so please arrive in time for those master classes.
