Classrooms Welcome To Tour New Martin Luther King Jr. Exhibit

Cherry Creek Shopping Center will display a collection of photographs honoring the life and the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and other historical benchmarks in the American civil rights movement.

The exhibit, opening Feb. 1, contains more than 40 photos of Dr. King delivering speeches, leading marches and protests, as well as capturing moments with his family and colleagues. There will also be a special section of photos showing Dr. King at various events and functions in the Denver area.

The exhibit also includes photographs of other important events and figures of the time such as Rosa Parks. Accompanying the exhibit will be a portion of the Western Union Black Inventions Museum Exhibit, which highlights African American inventors and inventions throughout history.

The exhibit will be located in the Grand Court of the Cherry Creek Shopping Center. The display will be open to the public, free of charge, for the entire month of February during regular center hours.

Arrangements can be made for class tours of the exhibit by calling Lisa Herzlich at (303) 388-2522, ext. 329.
