Internationally acclaimed parenting speaker and author Barbara Coloroso is scheduled to speak at the Steele Elementary School PTA meeting on Thursday, Jan. 23 from 7 to 9 p.m.

The speech will be held at the Steele School Auditorium located at 320 S. Marion Parkway, east of Downing and Alameda, north of Washington Park.

Tickets purchased in advance are priced at $10 for PTA members and $12 for non-PTA members. Tickets will be $15 at the door.

For 30 years Coloroso has been having a positive impact on parents, teachers and children through her workshops, seminars, and her audio and video programs. Coloroso is also the author of two international bestsellers, which have dealt with such areas as parenting, teaching, school discipline, and non-violent conflict resolution.

Her newest book, The Bully, The Bullied, and the Bystander: From Pre-School to High School- How Parents and Teachers Can Help Break the Cycle of Violence, will be released in February 2003.
