The East High School Collaborative Decision-Making team (CDM) has scheduled a community forum on Thursday, Jan. 16 to gather from parents and members of the East community the qualities that a new principal should possess.

The forum will run from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and is only for East High School parents and community members. The forum will be held in the school’s newly refurbished auditorium. Services will be provided for Spanish speakers and the hearing impaired.

The East CDM has established a Principal Selection Team to prepare a position description, review applications, interview candidates and send 3 names to the Superintendent for consideration.

The team will take ideas from the forum, plus ideas obtained from the students and staff at East, and develop a position description that will appear on the DPS website.

Persons who cannot attend the forum, or who prefer to put their ideas in writing, can send ideas to East High School, Attention Principal Selection Team, 1545 Detroit St., Denver, CO 80206. Written comments must be received before January 20, 2003.
