Doull Elementary is celebrating “Pop Open a Good Book” on today, Thursday, Dec. 5.

Students will be rewarded for their progress toward a million words this morning with Pop-Tarts and treats, as they pop open and read more good books. The event will be going on all morning at the school, 2520 S. Utica St.

This effort, led by literacy coaches Gina Chavez and Malina Delve, is supported by teachers throughout the school who have developed creative ways to track their students’ efforts to read one million words this year.

Later this morning, students will enjoy an assembly by storyteller Rich Castro.
